Read MoreAm I a fibro warrior? A warrior is a person engaged in some struggle or conflict, a person who has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness. So yes, I consider myself a Fibro Warrior, each day I fight for my health, physically and mentally. But also know it can’t be done alone, it takes a village. It really does.
Read MoreThe most important piece of advice I can give to someone newly diagnosed with Fibro is that “This is not the end”. I would tell everyone to continue kicking ass each day.
Read MoreI have been very lucky since my diagnosis. I am still able to work and care for my
family. Some changes I have faced have been to slow things down a bit and use a walker
when I need to for long trips. I have learned to ask for help and to rest when I need it. I
have had to adjust to letting others do things for me that I would have normally done for
myself.
I first realized there was something wrong about five years ago. I had this persistent pain in one leg and I kept getting this shooting pain from my neck to the back of my head. I went to several doctors, had several exams, and finally I was diagnosed. Soon after many other symptoms followed.
Read MoreMy Fibromyalgia diagnosis has affected my mind greatly. For about two years, I was not able to do many things on my own mentally nor physically. Fortunately, I later realized I had to do something towards the betterment of my life.
Read MoreI was diagnosed at the age of 28, and finally having a diagnosis was a relief. At least it was an answer. I felt I wasn’t crazy. Fibromyalgia wasn’t well known back then, and a lot of doctors didn’t believe it was a ‘real’ illness yet. I had some doctors refuse to see me. But at least I had something to work with.
Read MoreI feel I am a Fibro warrior because I am resilient, I try to find the positive, the gratitude, the Faith, the beautiful moments that outshine the illness. You will find me smiling, trying my best, and helping anyone I can.

Read MoreI absolutely love spending an endless amount of time getting caught up in hours of conversation with friends and family. I grew up on beautiful Lake Wawasee, which has made me have a deep love and passion for water so anything that I can do on a body of water, count me in! I also love the west, specifically hiking up the mountains and skiing down them.
Read MoreMy name is Liz, and I live in Ontario, Canada. I am 69 years old. I’m not married. My last relationship ended in part because of my illness; he was very active, and I became extremely un-active. No kids. I’m retired now, although I had to go onto disability before then. I have had FMS for nearly 40 years; no one had ever heard about it when I got sick.
Read MoreMy name is Charley, I am 23yrs old. I have fibromyalgia, damaged muscles and nerves in my neck, leading half way down my spine and my arms and hands, asthma, and I also suffer with anxiety and depression, I am still in the middle of tests for other conditions, as I know that I am dealing with a lot more than just fibromyalgia and its symptoms. This illness has changed me, most of the time I don’t feel like my own age and according to some people, I don’t look my age either. But it’s surprising what a fake smile and some make-up can do, it can make you look like a normal, happy, and healthy person.
